I like how different the design of the Tesla Cybertruck is when compared to traditional pickup trucks which have not changed their look for decades. Tesla is polarizing and being unconventional is not easy. I generally side with the disruptors—I guess that makes me a fanboy of Tesla.
I tuned in for the live unveiling of the Cybertruck last night at 11:00 PM ET. My first reaction was a smile. “They built a tank!” Then I thought about how impressive it was that such a radical design was not leaked prior to the official unveiling.
The specs were impressive and pricing was lower than I expected (starting at $40k). A dual motor (300+ mile range) with autopilot and a 10k pound towing capacity will go for $57k without incentives. The 0-60 MPH speed is under 4.5 seconds for the dual motor—very fast for a pickup truck.
